FROM JEFF KASSEL: Just remember, we actually have to pull together now. It's a dangerous time. We have to stop arguing and actually solve the problems. Obama was a long shot. Nobody would have expected him to win. He made it basically on intelligence, his voice, and personality. Yes he leans towards the left but as president I think he's just trying to put out fires. The only reason I'm interested in health care is because I'm old and I see it as a huge financial threat to the country and most people that live here. I couldn't care less about Acorn. I care more about the Patriots who I have not watched in years. I care more about the chargers who I've never watched. If we don't crawl out of this mess now, the country is finished. I've been talking about it since you knew me. The financial problems are the clear and present danger to the United States. It's not muslims, Al Queda, Saddaam, Chavez, Obama, Acorn....it's the people who we've elected. They don't work for us. They sell themselves. And they'll say anything to get elected. If George Bush 2 was trying, he couldn't have done more damage to the country. In my wildest paranoia, I would never have imaginined Citibank, Bear, Goldman and Leyman would buy and sell CDO's and other derivative paper leveraged 30 or 40 to 1. Nor did I think AIG would insure them with no reserve to cover losses if they were wrong. The problems are building, not diminishing. As a result of the collapse, national debt is getting worse. I would like someone to explain to me what the Republican plan is to crawl out of this. So called Conservatives got us in. They cut taxes, spent hundreds of billions on a war, didn't regulate the gangsters in banking and allowed loans to people that couldn't pay it back. You can blame Barney Frank forever but they had the presidency and both houses of congress. They wrecked the fucking country with their miserable greed, lies and propaganda. You gotta pay the bills, you can't cut taxes and pay the bills. They had some help from the left but not much. Since the country runs on credit, and since the Great Depression was caused by failed banks and no lending, how do you fix things without bailing out banks and keeping the machine going. The solution is lousy but I would like to hear the alternative. There is no alternative. If the banks had failed, it would have taken all the big depositors down (like cities and states and big corporations). The more I think about it, the more I want to get out of this country. It's a suicide bomb....and we just nearly blew up the whole world. It still could happen. You're worried about ACORN and Queers and atheists. They are not even on the radar screen. What you should be concerned with is not a morality play but national solvency. You see the world in black and white, Democrats and Republicans, atheists and believers, good and evil. It's simple to do that but you have missed the real problems. You have forgotten that human stupidity and greed and the failure to assess risk correctly have brought us this problem. The truth is we had a lot of people that didn't do their jobs. And the commissioners and political appointees who were supposed to supervise them and make sure they did the job, simply looked the other way. The United States has failed because the political leadership was bought and paid for by the real power in this country. Do you seriously think Bush was setting the agenda. He's a lightweight.....he was the electable pretty face. And these cynical sons of bitches selected a born again Christian who could get the votes....like your vote. Unfortunately what they forgot was when the ship sinks, they go down with it. Never underestimate stupidity as the cause of calamity. Stupidity masquerades often as moral failure. That's the conspiracy you've managed to avoid thinking about. You and every other Christian brought this country to it's knees. You had help from the Republicans who duped you and who duped themselves. This is the danger of ideology. You don't need to think when you're an ideologue....it's all laid out for you. Hate Acorn, Hate Obama, Hate Queers. love Glen Beck, go to church. Then everything will be fine. Well...Surprise....it isn't fine. It's a fucking mess. I've got a suggestion for you in particular....I do this as much as I can in my personal life because it keeps me from repeating mistakes. "When things go wrong, always blame yourself" because if you really thought about it, you could have seen the problem coming. Greg....you blame everybody but yourself. And of course you're without blame because you walk on higher moral ground. It must be reasuring being a member of the God Squad.
