I'm not sure how many people here are avid outdoors man. While i am  an avid fisherman I am  seeing our public access to our lakes getting to public. By this I mean with the advent of the modern day Kayak these people are taking up all the parking at our boat ramps. The people who are paying the registration fees for their boats, jet skies, canoes with motors on them are going to these ramps and seeing these parking lots inundated with kayakers taking up all the parking spots and not allowing the boaters to park.Example: My brother and I ran a tournament bass fishing club for 6 years and when we applied for a permit to fish a certain lake we were only allowed to take up half the parking even though we paid for a permit and also paid to register the boats. Mind you these fees are for supporting Fish & Game officers, Marine Patrol and yes public access boat ramps. Why I bring this up is I was at Massabesic lake fishing last month after work and show up to the boat ramp only to see a Kayak club launching 15 plus kayaks. The launch at Massabesic has trailer parking and car parking. Where do you think the Kayakers parked? Yes in the trailer parking area. The gentleman sponsoring the CLUB parked in the turn around area for BOATS.. This happens just about every launch in the state. If Bass Clubs need to pay a permit fee these so called kayak clubs need to start ponying up for their use as well. I would like to see them to have to register the kayaks or start launching on the side of the road and leave the boat ramps for BOATS....
