Either way. What do you know about weed-n-seed?

Dear Mr. Briggs:

The Office of Youth Services and Weed & Seed are co-sponsoring a special meeting next week that centers on a major challenge facing all youth workers in Manchester: gangs!

We are hoping that you, as a newly elected member of the Board of School Committee, will be able to attend the meeting, described below. The Juvenile Crime Prevention Initiative (the Anti-Gang group) will have a special session with its national consultants, Wayne Rawlins from the Department of Justice’s Community Capacity Development Office and Joanne Davidson from Winston-Salem State University, on Monday, November 9th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The session aims to bring Manchester stakeholders together to learn more about the Initiative and goals for Manchester,  learn about best practices from around the country that have been successfully designed to prevent youth gang activity, and formulate policies and procedures to support Manchester’s gang prevention programming.

Event Date:    Monday, November 9th

Time:               1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Location:       Carol M. Rines Center, 1528 Elm Street, Manchester, NH

(Parking and entry at the rear of the building)

Please RSVP to this e-mail or to Nicole Rodler, Weed & Seed Coordinator, 624-6466 x 356 or Dorothy Krasner, Office of Youth Services, 624-6470.
